Many times I am asked what is a VA (Virtual Assistant) and what do they do. For me this has been an ongoing journey as my virtual assistant agency has been built and the tasks that we do for clients has changed and grown over the years.
Most of a virtual assistants day is based around doing tasks for clients that they are ready to delegate. My day can hold a lot of different activities. I also spend a fair amount of time in meetings with clients. It is very important for my job that I am in contact with clients and can listen to what they are needing in their business, how we can strategize the next step and where we are at in the current workflow of tasks already in progress.
The day can contain a whirlwind of multitasking and seamless coordination. My day starts by analyzing my calendar, emails, and to-do lists. Then I need to prioritizes tasks, scheduling appointments and sending reminders to ensure a productive day ahead. There may be some adapting to each of my clients needs with each interaction.
My day is not just about tasks deadlines but also always providing gentle reminders and facilitating progress on various clients projects. Beyond administrative tasks I may spend time doing research, gathering insights on various topics to assist my clients in decision-making and innovation. With every interaction, I am always adapting and learning to help become a part of each clients team and move their business forward.
My favorite part of being a virtual assistant is the variety of tasks each day. Each client is different and each of their needs if different. I like that. It is how my brain likes to work.
Thinking about hiring a virtual assistant...let’s have talk. Tell me what you need..where you are stuck…and overwhelmed!
